Historical Introduction

The available information regarding the Armenian school of Drishk is only fragmentary.

In 1893 there was a functioning Protestant school in the village.

In 1905 there were only 5 literate people among the locals19—the result of the absence of a school.

In the academic year 1910/11, the village had a school of 4 departments with 24 pupils, including 18 girls. In 1911/12 the 25 pupils of Drishk and Sheitanava had only a single teacher.
