In the pre-Soviet period, the village had some Russians settlers.
In 1988, before the enforced displacement of the Armenians, the village had 44 Armenian, 1 Lezghian and 350 Azerbaijanian households.

Foundation
1938 y․

This village is situated at a distance of 4.5 km northwest of the administrative centre of Baylagan. It was populated by the Armenians of the Martakert, Martuni and Hadrut districts of the NKR since February 1938.
