Location

It is situated at the southward skirt of the Great Caucasus, 4 km north of the district centre.

The Armenian immigrants who settled in that Georgian-populated village not later than the 18th century formed a considerable number there. As a result, the village became the central settlement among the adjacent ones having but a small number of Armenian inhabitants.
