Location

Lagodekh, the easternmost city in the Republic of Georgia, is located at the southern skirt of the wooded slopes of the Great Caucasus.

The first reference to Lagodekh Armenians, who are known to have moved there from Tiflis, Sghnakh, Karabakh, Agulis, Meghri, etc., traces back to the 1860s. The city also had Russian and Georgian inhabitants.
