Location

The local Russian public school, located on the right bank of the river Kurak, had been moved from the Turkish village of Gyoran.

In the early 1890s, it had over 50 pupils.

In 1892 it had 5 classes and functioned on a two-year basis.

In the Soviet years, the building of the institution underwent some reconstruction after which it housed a 10-year Armenian secondary school until 1991.
