Historical Introduction
1870 y․

Being the centre of the administrative uyezd, Jabrail had a Royal school. Among the students, who attended the school in 1878, there were 30 Armenian boys. We are also informed that the whole teaching staff of that school consisted of Armenians (the Principal - Alexander Ter-Abrahamian - since 1879, teacher Arshak Tumaniants - since 1884, and Catechism teacher - Father Gabriel Ter-Harutyuniants -since 1885).
