Location

The ruins of a church, known by the name of Katnaghbyuri Zham (i.e. Church of Katnaghbyur) among the local people, are preserved on a mountain slope half a kilometre east of Bezhano.

Architectural Description

Only the bema has survived out of this sanctuary, which used to represent a uni-nave building of finely-finished stone (exterior dimensions: 8.10 x 4.9 metres). Its plan, as well as its building and composition peculiarities trace it back to the 12th to 13th centuries.
