Gharaghala Cyclopean Castle

Location

The remnants of a castle/tower of cyclopean masonry are preserved a kilometre north-east of the village, at an altitude of 2,010 metres above sea level. The fortification is circular in plan with its walls 2.5 metres thick.

Description

It is called Kyoroghli by the local Armenians. The available military maps mention it by the name of Gharaghala, i.e. Black Castle.
