Historical Introduction
1884 — 1916 yy․

A document of 1916 mentions Vargav as having “...an ancient church built of stone.” In contrast to this, another record of 1884speaks of it as having no church: “The church is housed in a private dwelling.”

Repairs
1890 y․

After its reconstruction in 1890, Sourb Astvatzatzin Church started serving as a public building.

In 1908 it was in a state of disrepair.

1915 y․

As of 2006, Sourb Astvatzatzin was in a semi-ruined state, and the inhabitants of Vargav were busy with the construction of a new church.
