The church of St. Hovhannes Mkrtich (St. John the Baptist), which is still preserved standing in the village, dates back to 1850. It represents a stone building of a wooden roof.

Հայաստանի ազգային դիվան (National Archives of Armenia), ֆ. 316, ց. 1, գ. 102, թ. 38: An inscription carved on the church entrance mentions 1851 as the year of its construction. The same is also substantiated by a number of sources («Արձագանք», 1885, N 26, էջ 368։ «Օրացոյց եւ պատկեր տօնից», Թիֆլիս, 1916, էջ 83): Karapetian. Samvel, Javakhk, Yerevan, 2011, p. 509.
