Historical Introduction

Shirak Press (1904 to 1920) published 64 books and the “Akhurian” paper (1907 to 1915), the editor and publisher of which was Karapet Apinian.

1903 y․

In 1903 the first periodical of the city, the “Alexandropolskiye Obyavleniya” (“Announcements from Alexandrople”) weekly, was issued, its publication lasting until 1906 (editor & publisher: K. Apinian).
