Historical Introduction

It may have been founded as early as the 18th century. The first written record on it traces back to 1818, but the archive documents of later periods (till the beginning of the 20th century) frequently make reference to it, too. The church closed in 1923.

Architectural Description
1988 y․

The church, whose exterior dimensions are 12,78 x 7,55 m, represents a single-nave, rectangular building, bare of any decor and inscriptions. It has an apse and two vestries in the east, nine windows, as well as two entrances, opening in the south and west. The belfry towers on top of the western pediment.

Priest Hovhannes. According to the inscription of the chalice, he served in 1809.

1908 — 1910 yy․

Hovsep Terteriants. Mentioned in 1908-1910, he is known to have also performed priestly duties for Kistaur and Khorkhel Villages.
