The belfry, adjoining the church, was built in 1829.

Destruction
1924 y․

The belfry was destroyed on 19 April 1924. On 10 May, the local authorities ruined the “... western and southern ramparts of Telav’s main St. George Church, which was not functioning then, also demolishing its vestibule and the belfry dome. Now the church has turned into a theatre, attended by the public.”
