Historical Introduction

In the early 1880s, the Armenian resettlers embarked upon the construction of a church. It started in 1883, but was stopped due to the lack of means.

In 1884 the church was still incomplete.

A record of 1885 mentions “the newly-founded Armenian church of the Holy Virgin in Tsarskiye Kolodtsi.”

Architectural Description

The Holy Virgin Church, which has been standing up today, represents a single-nave, vaulted, brick structure of the following exterior dimensions: 14,95 x 8,35 m.
